Science That Connects: A Partnership Between Osteometabolism and Pain

Science advances when knowledge transcends boundaries and different fields find opportunities for dialogue. In clinical practice, this integration occurs every day: osteometabolic diseases, musculoskeletal disorders, and pain frequently coexist, requiring healthcare professionals to have a broad and multidisciplinary understanding of their patients.

It is within this context that we celebrate the growing collaboration between the Brazilian Orthopedic Association of Osteometabolism (ABOOM) and the Brazilian Association of Musculoskeletal Pain (ABDOR) through a partnership aimed at promoting and strengthening their scientific publications.

Although each journal maintains its own identity, scope, and editorial independence, there is a shared scientific landscape that makes this collaboration particularly relevant. Osteoporosis, fragility fractures, sarcopenia, osteoarthritis, spinal disorders, rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal pain are just some examples of topics that bring together researchers and professionals dedicated to both fields.

More than simply expanding the visibility of the journals, this partnership represents an opportunity to bring together scientific communities that have much to share. By promoting the exchange of knowledge across different specialties, we broaden the reach of the evidence produced and foster new perspectives for research, medical education, and patient care.

Through this collaboration, ABOOM and ABDOR will provide mutual support in promoting their journals— the ABOOM Journal, RABDOR Journal, and the Journal of the Brazilian Musculoskeletal Pain Society (JBMPS)—through their institutional communication channels, helping articles, calls for submissions, and other editorial initiatives reach an increasingly broad and diverse scientific audience.

We believe that strong scientific journals are built not only on the quality of the studies they publish, but also on their ability to foster dialogue, encourage new questions, and connect researchers around shared
challenges.

This partnership was established precisely with this
purpose: to connect knowledge, people, and fields that, although they bring their own perspectives, find an important point of convergence in musculoskeletal care.

May this mark the beginning of a lasting collaboration, capable of paving the way for new scientific initiatives and, above all, contributing to the production and dissemination of high-quality knowledge.
